In one of the largest and most commercial streets of London, ex proffeso to cut traffic, the Taste of Spain about Hispanic traditions the grateful British public. No missing horses, Seville, paella ... and joy.
Imposing Menorca horses on their hind legs dancing to the tune of a popular melody; salerosas women with red polka dot dresses delivered to the heels on the pavement, a giant paella perfuming the atmosphere of Mediterranean flavors, wines to give and take, delicious hams ... And party, in short, for something that is the hallmark of Spanish.
All these ingredients will meet on May 31 ... in the streets of London. More precisely, in Regent Street, one of the enclaves of shops, restaurants and famous lifestyle of the British capital.
The reason for such an extravagant event is the festival to taste or Spain (A Taste of Spain), for several issues, acts as a showcase with the best of Spanish country. A festival that has not only helped to appreciate the Spanish culture and customs but has managed to reap further success increasingly growing between the cold English population.
Year after year, this shopping street is closed to traffic from noon until six in the evening to show the most deeply rooted traditions of twelve Spanish regions. Among them: the dance of the horses of Menorca, a fashion show of Andalusia, Valencia giant paellas, Arts and Crafts Green Spain, the Canary Islands activities for children ... and of course, a typical Spanish market to taste and buy the most popular food and wine country.
But that's not all. Those attending this celebration of Hispanic character also can enjoy throughout the day, various live performances with songs and dances most famous: among them, flamenco and traditional bagpipe music, from a large stage at the junction of Regent Street and New Burlington Street.
Taking this opportunity, many of the shops of Regent Street, the first commercial street in the world built for that purpose, provided that day offers, discounts and competitions, while in the neighboring streets and pedestrian Swallow Heddon Street restaurants include performances Direct to entertain your guests outdoors. They also say that, on this day as Spanish, it's fun to see the English language pouquito practicing that one day they learned in school.
