We are at the time of festivals and pilgrimages, and what items we warned back-and San Isidro in Madrid, the capital of the Autonomy of the same name, and therefore of Spain, is a pilgrimage with festivals included, and a sign of bulls as highlighted in the world of major fairs.

"San Isidro, besides being the patron of peasants and workers, is the patron of Madrid and the chroniclers say that he lived on horseback from the eleventh and twelfth centuries. There are many stories and legends that circulate about his life and identity. By all accounts, San Isidro was a digger in his youth he moved with his family to Torrelaguna. Years later, after marrying, he returned to Madrid to become a farmer. It was at this time when they started calling him "Isidro Labrador." From here, your life changes completely and surprise your neighbors with many surprising or miraculous events that brought the good for the community. For example, every so often given a meal at home and on one occasion, he did not have enough food to meet the guests, which was able to multiply putting a pot in the pot.

On another occasion, during a terrible drought year, fearing for the harvest of his master slapped the ground with his hazadón bringing forth a spring that was enough water to supply the city of Madrid. Besides these and other wonders, the most famous of his miracles was that this miraculous spring water cured King Philip III of a serious illness. Therefore, Isidro was canonized in 1622. "

So says the chronicle of the patron saint of Madrid, and so is held every year in its history. And justice would not speak of a pilgrimage as famous and popular, without mentioning their raison d'etre.

All-or nearly all, the traditions are a mixture of religiosity, secular roots and passed from parent to child without exception. The formation of the culture of any people, leaving us to remember specific celebrations, and so endure through time.

"When you go to Madri, chulapa mine, I will make Lavapiés Empress ..." Thus says the schottische (and that chulapos pronounced "Madri" as it sounds) dance typical of Madrid, and known internationally, performing with equal panache young adults. Figure and bustle of waffle and organ, whose music of the past, and those rich wafers accompany the party all day, are the delight of locals and visitors.

Also, if you do not want to bring food from home, you can buy in the bars spiked tortilla, chorizo and typical food dishes like paella or stew.

So are the festivals of Spain, popular and harmonized, welcoming neighbors and strangers equally.

Here we leave a sign, too, its publicity posters, with the video of Manuel Jesus "El Cid", very popular bullfighter in Sales , 2008.
